Confetti Sautoir
14k gold and sapphires
DESCRIPTION
A study in color, light, and memory.
The Confetti Sautoir began with the same childhood fascination that inspired the Confetti Collier: the mesmerizing way translucent color shifts and glows when touched by sunlight. As a child, I was endlessly drawn to kaleidoscopes and the constantly changing patterns inside them—the way tiny fragments of color could feel magical simply because of light. I still remember the translucent jelly sandals my mom and I wore during hot Chicago summers in the 80s, their bright colors glowing almost like candy in the afternoon sun. Those memories of color, warmth, and light quietly found their way into this piece years later.
Composed of over 500 multi-color sapphire briolettes, the Confetti Sautoir carries that same softly kaleidoscopic feeling. Pastel flashes of pink, blue, green, yellow, champagne, and smoky grey shift gently with movement, creating a strand that feels luminous, fluid, and constantly alive.
Longer and more dramatic in silhouette, the sautoir drapes with an effortless elegance characteristic of the style’s early origins while maintaining a relaxed versatility. It may be worn long and lean, or doubled upon itself for a layered look that feels equally refined and personal.
These natural sapphires were selected for their color and luminosity, allowing subtle variations between stones to create rhythm, texture, and depth across the strand. The result feels organic rather than overly composed—joyful, sophisticated, and slightly nostalgic all at once.
The necklace is finished with a matte brushed 14 karat yellow gold magnetic clasp, an understated sculptural detail that quietly balances the vibrancy of the sapphires.
