Jewelry Care Guide

Each piece is shaped by hand in my studio and brought to life in precious metal, often set with natural stones that are individually selected for their character and light. No two are exactly alike.

These materials are chosen for their ability to endure, but also to evolve. With thoughtful wear and care, your piece will maintain its integrity and beauty over time—while quietly taking on a character that reflects how it has been worn.

Wearing Your Jewelry

To preserve the integrity of your piece, we recommend putting your jewelry on as a final step when getting dressed and removing it at the end of the day. It’s best to take your pieces off before swimming or bathing, exercising, applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products, and during any activity that may expose them to impact or abrasion.

Stone Settings and Delicate Details

Many designs feature carefully set stones and sculptural forms that benefit from a considered touch. While durable, these elements can be affected by impact or repeated friction over time.

Pieces worn at the wrist or on the hands—particularly cuffs, bangles, and rings—are naturally more prone to coming into contact with hard surfaces such as desks or tabletops. Over time, this repeated contact can place subtle stress on stone settings. A mindful awareness of these interactions will help preserve the integrity of the piece.

If you notice any movement in a stone or a change in how a piece sits or feels, it’s best to pause wear and have it assessed.

Cleaning and Maintenance

To maintain your jewelry’s finish, clean it gently using warm water, a mild soap, and a soft brush, taking care to reach areas where residue may collect. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. A polishing cloth may be used periodically to restore the surface of the metal.

Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners should be avoided, particularly around gemstones, as they can affect both the setting and the stone over time. Sterling silver may naturally deepen in tone with exposure to air and skin; a gentle polish will restore its original brightness.

Storage

When not being worn, store your jewelry in a soft pouch or an airtight container. Keeping pieces separate helps prevent scratching, while limiting exposure to air can slow natural oxidation, particularly for sterling silver.

Chains should be fastened and laid flat to maintain their form. Necklaces that are strung should also be stored flat rather than hung, helping to preserve their structure over time.

Periodic Care

Over time, even well-cared-for jewelry benefits from occasional professional attention. We recommend periodic inspections for pieces with stones to ensure settings remain secure and the piece continues to wear as intended.

A Final Note

Jewelry is meant to be worn and lived in. With thoughtful care, it will not only endure, but take on a character that is entirely its own.
